317 Richey Avenue

317 Richey Avenue

As you walk up the steps of 317 Richey you know you are about to enter a home filled with family. Through the picket fence, onto the porch, and as you are welcomed into the lovely entry way take notice of the many personal touches this family has put into their home. Julia and Brian have had a remodeling hand in every corner of their home over the years - from electrical and other systems to painting, mouldings, fireplaces, and landscaping.

When purchasing their home, Julia and Brian were especially taken with the entry and its beautiful woodwork. Also on the first floor, visitors will notice some walls have been removed in both the kitchen and dining room area – the latter done by previous owners. The kitchen is one of the smallest rooms in this home, but also one of the busiest so a little more open space is welcome. The exposed brick in the living room is a result of Brian’s hard work, and was unearthed under several levels of plaster, insulation, and paneling.

This home originally had beveled glass, but no stained glass. Julia has recently completed and placed the stained glass window in the master bedroom. Also in the master bedroom, a fireplace has been added with a new mantel in place – a gift from the Heil family at 305 Richey and an onyx surround. The master bath is a new room since the Vidics took residence, it was added within months of moving in. The original bath was redone in 2003, creating quite a problem as the stringer for the butler stairs cut through part of this small space. A recent nursery turned TV room and children’s rooms round out the upper floors of the home.
