Incarnation of the Lord Parish
Formed in 1993 after the merger of Annunciation and Nativity parishes, Incarnation of the Lord was formerly known as Nativity of Our Lord. The building was designed by Carlton Strong (1869-1931), who is best known for the churches he designed in the Pittsburgh area. Strong's design for this parish communicates the message of faith through the language of brick and stone. Originally called Nativity of Our Lord Parish, members comment that the craftsman style exposed ceiling reminds them of a simple manger setting. Be sure to check out the dramatic interior, especially the painted beamed roof.
On May 19, 2002, an electrical fire destroyed the original altar and caused tremendous smoke damage to the interior of the church. During the restoration, the stained glass from the former Annunciation Church was installed behind the new altar.
Incarnation of the Lord serves the community with their food bank,
Women’s Guild, and Youth Organization.
