305 Richey Avenue

This frame house, painted with multiple shades of Victorian green, was built at the turn of the century and rehabilitated by Paul Moser in 1996. Paul, who has completed several homes in Observatory Hill, was careful to preserve the natural woodwork and Victorian amenities of the original builders.

Michael Krivosh purchased the home in 1996 after moving from Portland, Oregon. For the first six years that Michael owned the house, he spent little time there because of his work schedule. A new retiree, Michael is planning to enjoy his home at last.

The entry, with an original stained glass panel above the door, features a hand stenciled ivy pattern that continues up the stairs to the 2nd floor. The living room is connected to the entry and dining room by working panel pocket doors and is warmed by a gas fireplace. Another stained glass window graces the dining room with an unusual built-in china closet. The kitchen might be Michael’s favorite room in the house because he loves to cook. It is connected to a large back deck by French doors and is also home to his patio garden. There is access to the second floor by the butler stairs in the kitchen.

The second floor has three bedrooms, two of which have decorative fireplaces. A third bedroom, featuring beautiful large bay windows, is used as an office. Climbing to the third floor, you will find a totally refinished large bedroom suite.
