Mike, a Pittsburgh Public school teacher, found this home in December of 1999. Mike looked at 40 homes that day. He and Quynh toured just a few homes, but were drawn to the comfort of their 1930’s Colonial home. They appreciated the large rooms, the easy flow of the first floor and the storage space. After moving in they realized how fortunate they were as they got to know their neighbors. “Our neighborhood is what makes our home special. It’s really great to feel a part of the community.” It is no longer a requirement of Mike’s job to live in the city, but the McGuire’s are here to stay.

The dining room is decorated in a European style with red walls that emit high energy. The built-in corner cabinets are original to the home. As you move to through the first floor, note the Asian art theme in the living room. The pieces are from Vietnam, Thailand and China. When you move to the sun room enjoy the light and airy feel. Take a moment to enjoy the view of the surrounding trees.

When you go upstairs be sure to look at the glass chandelier in the entrance. The Master bedroom has been painted with a textured paint. It has been decorated with core pieces like the antique chaise lounge and the four-poster bed made in the Amish community of New Wilmington.

Before you leave this home make sure to take a look at the view from the front porch. Enjoy the sights of Observatory and Riverview Park.
