This home built in 1919, welcomes visitors into an open foyer complete with wooden staircase, banister, and railing. The Duncans are relatively new residents of Observatory Hill, choosing the neighborhood because they wanted to be close to downtown yet feel like they had a small hometown area to come home to. As you tour the home, take note of the artwork and many unique glass pieces created by Emma Walters the homeowner’s sister.

Most of the carpeting has been replaced by the Duncans and new paint colors have been added to make the house their own, including a lime green accent wall added to the kitchen to keep it fresh and modern. The kitchen itself, always the gathering place for friends and family was enlarged and updated by previous owners.

On the first floor visitors will find a formal dining room featuring a dining room set passed down from the homeowner’s great-grandparents. The living room is home to a newly installed gas fireplace, providing a cozy and warm resting spot that is a favorite of the homeowners.

Upstairs, visitors will find a master bedroom adjacent to a remodeled bathroom, which is less than a year old. A former nursery is now used as a sitting room and extra bedroom. The homeowners have turned the final bedroom into their “beach room” until they can move to the coast, they enjoy this lovely beach themed study/sewing room.
