115 Waldorf Street

115 Waldorf Street

Built in 1923, this charming Craftsman style home on the corner of Zolium and Waldorf Street is simple, informal, and efficient—a classic Craftsman design.

The large entrance porch is an integral part of the transition from exterior to interior space. Jonathan says, “In warmer months, the porch is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine after a long day of work.” Throughout the home, the owners have married old and new to create a unique living space that fits their lifestyle and personalities.

Take note of the recently refinished oak floors on the first floor and the staircase, the original wood ceiling beams, and the textured wallpaper—and don’t miss the leather-shaded wall sconces flanking the original blueprints to the home! There is a lot to see as you pass through the dining room and into the recently renovated kitchen, which features new stainless steel appliances. Before heading upstairs, visit the cozy sunroom in the rear of the house.

The second floor includes three bedrooms, one of which serves as office space (repainted just last winter). The spacious master bedroom overlooks Waldorf Street, and the guest bedroom is perfect for visitors. The bathroom features shades of blue and white tile on the floor, walls, and ceiling. “It’s the original tile, which makes it unusual,” Jonathan notes.

To the owners, the most important feature of this attractive home may be its location. They enjoy the neighborhood, its proximity to downtown and highways, and the diversity of all those who call Observatory Hill home.
