Home of Teddy and Katie Sweeney

Teddy, Katie, and Caroline Sweeney
welcome you into their home. This
home has been in Teddy’s family since
the 1960s. Both Teddy’s father and
uncle lived here until they were married,
Teddy’s Grandma and
Grandfather never moved. Katie and
Teddy moved in on April 1, 2005.
This is their first home and the house
we welcomed Caroline into on July 1,
2005.
Teddy and Katie renovated the home’s
top three floors. Prior to painting
everything the Sweeney’s had a master
plaster worker repair all damage on the
first and second floors. All of the carpet
was removed to expose the hardwood
floors. Teddy, himself, refinished
the entire first floor and one
room on the second floor. The attic
has been changed from a storage space
to a wonderful 2nd family room, office
and work-out space.
The entrance door is original. Notice
on the staircase the three beautiful
stained glass windows and on the landing
another set of stairs lead directly to
the kitchen. When on the second floor
be sure to see the stained glass boat
scene in the bathroom. This is the
homeowner’s favorite window.
“This part of the City has always been
special to us, specifically because my
Grandmother lived here. We spent
many weekends and evenings enjoying
Acorn Hill and we continue to do so
today. When we moved in it was not
so much the house and the yard that
we loved, but rather the people and the
community. This truly is an oasis in
the City. We thank Grandma for the
opportunity to take over her wonderful
home.” |
